I think it'd be cool if you could look up already existing customizations through pet species/color.
I know some people won't want others to steal their customization ideas, so you could have an option of putting your customization as private or public. I say this because I'm having immense trouble customizing my mutant draik, and I'd love to see others ideas! I think many others would love this feature to be implemented to.8 votes
So for the new item trade and track, I thought how handy! But really, if you want to see if there is an item somebody has of yours, you must click each item.. I think we should be notified if there is an item we want on somebody's TL and possibly if we have an item in our TL that is on their WL. I know it doesn't mean the trade would be fair but possibly link to a value guide before you mail the user. That would make the new track and trade VERY useful so you don't have to keep checking back to see if somebody added an item of your WL :)

Yeah, this is definitely the direction we’re heading with this feature. I’m not sure how difficult that would be to build, though, both in finding matches and a helpful way of showing them to the user. So this is definitely on our roadmap :) Thanks!
The lists would work pretty much the same way as lists for items. I'd love to categorize my outfits so I could separate incomplete outfits and complete outfits, serious outfits and fooling around outfits, etc.7 votes
The list of items can be separated with 1 item per line.
This shouldn't be too hard to implement, right?
And it should be very useful for people making (large) wishlists, because you don't generally own the items on your wishlist, and therefore would not be able to get the data from the closet/SDB7 votes
Hmm, interesting. Are you importing from a particular source, or would this just be an easier way to create the list in the first place?
I like the thought, but it’s a small feature that only a handful of users would probably end up using, and features need to fight both for development time and for the right to be permanently maintained :/
I would like an easy indicator for users who are not active on the site. Sometimes when looking for trades, I go to mail a user and find they have been frozen or haven't logged on neo for a long time. If you could grey out the usernames of inactive users (such as those who haven't logged on to DTI in 6 months) in the "n users have this item up for trade" that would be incredibly helpful.7 votes
I think it would be very useful if we could order our lists, so that they would appear in the order that we choose, and not alphabetically...
And bulk moving items from one list to another is a must!
Though I think you're already working on it...
However, I think in general you are doing great work!
Yay for importing!!!6 votes
Yep, actively researching how to rework some of the Your Items section :) I’ll keep sorting in mind as I push ahead—thanks for the heads-up, and glad to hear you’re enjoying the site!
So many people on the neoboards use DTI to share customisations. Since we can't link directly to DTI, everyone posts the DTI outfit number. I think it would be great if there was a search box on the front page so we could enter the number and be taken directly to the outfit; instead of always having to type it in the url.6 votes
Hmm. I’m thinking about this one… on one hand, it sounds decently useful. On the other, space on the homepage is very valuable real estate, and a feature needs to be very important and fit the UI well to make the cut. Thoughts on where it would go? There’s no natural place for it as-is…
Have filters for non-/animated items, and a drop-down list for the items that can be bought at certain shops (eg. Uni Clothes, etc.)
Basically that, a filter to see which items are animated (like glimmering wigs, moving wings, etc.), and another one that filters clothes by shop (if you, for example, want to make a full steampunk-themed outfit with items only from Cog's Togs).6 votes
Hmm. My big requirement for features is that they be entirely automatable. Animation seems like it could be but it’d be tricky. As for shops, I’m not sure. I’ll keep an eye on it. Thanks!
Please add the possibility of adding unwearble nc items to our tradelist. For example: Fortune Cookies, Caps, GBCs, etc...6 votes
Interesting. I feel like this would be a very helpful feature for trades, but I’m a bit concerned about how it would play out on the rest of the site: since many features on the site depend on the fact that all items are wearable, quite a few areas would have to be modified to take into account the possibility of unwearables :/ Thanks for the heads-up, and I’ll be sure to let you know if this feature goes live :D
What if for the your outfits section, you could sort them newest-oldest or oldest-newest? Kind of to see you progress or something, because that would be awesome! ^^6 votes
Hmm. Sounds like a good idea to me, though I’d wonder how this would interact with starred outfits: right now, starred outfits float to the top, so, if I sorted newest to oldest, would stars still go on top?
Anyway. Since outfits can largely be managed by naming and starring, I count this as a low-priority feature (meaning it really isn’t likely for the next few months—busy schedule, long to-do list, all that stuff :/), but I like it. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks!
Like, have a link to all outfits on an account. I saw an issue in a past suggestion about idea-stealers, but it would be hard to steal ideas if the url was something like "http://impress.openneo.net/user/fg9iVD8y9Jy7kp".6 votes
Well, for what it’s worth, my records indicate that nobody’s been randomly entering outfit IDs this week to steal ideas, so that’s nice. I’ve thought about introducing outfit privacy settings, but I usually reach the same conclusion: privacy settings are too complicated a solution to what’s currently a very small problem.
It’s also worth noting the recent trend on the Neoboards to refer to an outfit by its ID number. It’d be nice to keep that process simple.
Still, I’ll keep this in mind. If we ever change how outfits work, like by creating a list of recently created outfits for folks to browse, we’ll have to add privacy settings, and obfuscated URLs might be a good option. Thanks :)
It would be nice to see all the new toys TNT has released, up front, ready for playing with...o3o6 votes
Save my pets' names so I don't have to type them in every time i open up DTI to model some stuff from someone's tradelist or whatever.6 votes
I always like to see how my pet will look in the 50x50 box (the one that appears on the neoboards under the avatar), ie how much of the background is shown and all.6 votes
Hmm. I’ve bounced this idea ‘round my head a few times, but never quite got ’round to doing it because I want it to work without requiring manual input, and I’m not sure how to automatically discover how the 50×50 preview crops a new body type.
Thanks for keeping this on my radar, and I’ll let you know if anything changes :)
It's hard enough to find the perfect petpet to match my Neopet, but it's even harder to find one who matches the coloration of the customisation I chose. If you could add a 'closet' of all petpet color combinations, then we could see the neopet and the petpet side by side in the same window, with what I'd like my Neopet to be wearing.6 votes
I like the thought, but I feel like this falls a bit out of Dress to Impress’s jurisdiction, and probably won’t be used often enough to merit development time. However, you can probably set up a pretty darn efficient setup by having DTI open in one half of the screen and on the other side the Petpet Puddle data (http://www.neopets.com/pool/petpet_colors.phtml). Hope this helps!
I have different closets for different accounts, but when I want to look up items I own, it gives me items from all accounts. I separated the items by accounts already, into different lists. Is it possible to only see items from one account when I'm trying to dress a pet from that account?5 votes
I get that it's "Dress" to Impress but lots of wearables come from tokens, caps and cookies. I think adding a non-wearables category would bring even more Neopians to this site as right now, JN can show those. Just a thought. And omg, thank you so much for the Mass Move option!! You did a great job with that.5 votes
This one’s interesting because it could be solved in two ways, both of which aren’t feasible yet: we could either have a team of trusted people manually maintain the nonwearables list (but we have no team :P), or we could integrate with another item database (but the two big ones are each no-go for their own respective reasons xP). If either of those changes, I’m down for this feature :)
Currently, we have private, public, and trading
Dyeworks lends often fall under trading even though the originals aren't actually UFT. This is frustrating when trying to hunt down the originals.
I'd love to see a Lending status for items that can be borrowed but aren't meant to be permanently traded.5 votes
That would be cool for inspiration if you wanted a new pet and weren't sure how to customize.5 votes
I'd love to be able to mass add, view and tinker with newly added items quickly, So having a search function with the 100 newest items sorted by date would really help. This short list on the home page is nice, but it's just too few. Thanks4 votes
Hmm. It seems reasonable to be able to sort both by name and by date. The biggest challenge would probably be working it into the existing UI in a consistent way without further cluttering the search navigation controls. Low priority, but I’ll keep it in mind :) Thanks!
